Services
The Carers Hub provides a range of services designed to help carers in a variety of ways - we offer carers:-
Services Offered |
What Does The Service Provide? |
|
Carers Groups | Carer support groups meet monthly in all the market towns and Hereford city. Parent carers meet weekly during term time and young carer clubs meet fortnightly during term time.
Carers Helpline | Information provided on a wide variety of topics.
Emergency Cards | The Emergency Card Scheme is linked to Careline and can be used if the carer has an emergency situation when not with the person they care for.
Home Visits | The Carer Support Workers can visit carers at home, or if home is difficult they can arrange to meet somewhere else.
Information On Individual Budgets | This is the Council's new way of funding care - each person can have their own pot of money to buy the care they need in the way they want it provided. We can give advice on this.
Information On Short Break / Respite | Carers can be offered a Short Break service through a Carers Assessment. We can give advice on how to access this.
Information Packs | A practical guide for anyone caring for friend or relative - a list of contacts and resources for a carer.
Keeping In Touch | This is the quarterly Newsletter for Adult Carers - up to date information on local and national issues affecting carers. Young carers also have their own Newsletter
Practical Sessions | Practical information or advice sessions to help carers - e.g. safe moving & handling, continence management etc.
Voice In The Planning Of Services | Membership of the Carer Networks gives carers a voice in planning and improving services for themselves and the people they care for. |
